Shopping for a 600W off-grid solar kit? Panel wattage is only one part of the decision. Battery capacity tells you how much energy can be stored, while inverter rating affects the AC loads you can connect. Here is a practical way to compare a complete system without treating its headline wattage as a promise of daily output.
What does 600W of solar panels mean?
Two 300W panels have a combined rated output of 600W under test conditions. Actual generation changes with season, location, shade, orientation and weather. Before choosing a kit, check how much energy your loads need each day in watt-hours (Wh): multiply each device's wattage by the number of hours you expect to use it, then add the results. Allow for system losses rather than assuming every rated watt reaches your appliances.
Why battery capacity matters
Battery energy is measured in Wh or kWh, not just Ah. A 51.2V, 100Ah battery has a nominal capacity of 5,120Wh, or 5.12kWh. Usable energy depends on battery operating limits, conversion losses and installation settings. A 5.12kWh battery does not mean a 600W solar array will refill it in a fixed number of hours.
Check the inverter as well as the panels
The inverter converts battery power into AC power. Its VA rating is not a guarantee that every device with a similar wattage will run: check continuous and surge demand, starting current and the inverter specifications for your loads. Installation and electrical protection should be planned for the site, not guessed from a kit title.
What is in this 600W kit?
Our 600W off-grid solar kit with 5.12kWh battery and Victron 3000VA inverter pairs two 300W Perlight Delta panels with a Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/50 controller, a Leoch 51.2V 100Ah LiFePO4 battery and a Victron MultiPlus-II 48/3000/35-32 inverter/charger. The product page lists the included cables, connectors, fuse and mounting feet, along with pallet-delivery information.
Use your actual load list and installation requirements to decide if the components suit your project. If you are unsure about compatibility or safe installation, consult a qualified installer before ordering.
